In part 2 of our overview of the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating, we demonstrate the standard serve sizes from each of the Five Food Groups. In this video we focus on meat and alternatives.
It's perfectly okay to eat a larger portion than the recommended serve sizes in a single meal if your daily intake is in line with recommendations for your age and gender. For example, 2 serves could be eaten in one meal.
Keep in mind, a maximum of 7 serves of lean red meat (455g cooked weight) is recommended per week for good health.
